Controller - Manufacturing

Monitor Manufacturing a division of Kenda Tire is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to join our management team. This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and budgeting. The Candidate should be skilled in manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing initiatives as involvement is required in inventory processing and control, and the Sales quotation process.
Responsibilities
- Manages established financial and accounting functions per GAAP and Company policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily processing of Invoices to Customers and sales batch updates to the sub-ledger.
- Review daily sales batches for accurate pricing and gross margin.
- Oversee banking functions, daily deposits, ACH and Wire payment processing, and monthly bank reconciliation.
- Oversee monthly customer accounts receivable and collection status. Report to management as needed.
- Oversee monthly closing process including approvals of Journal Entries, monthly closing reports, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Direct the operations of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Asset Accounting, and payroll ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Prepare Customer Credit Analysis and recommend Credit limits for approval.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and the corresponding analysis of variances to budget.
- Prepare annual budget.
- Support manufacturing to ensure the integrity of inventory transactions, including physical inventory counts, cycle counts, valuation adjustments, and standard cost rollups.
- Prepare weekly analysis of labor hours and monthly analysis of actual labor cost to the budget.
- Prepare Sales & Use Tax and Excise Tax returns.
- Coordinate the annual audit with outside independent auditors.
- Assist President as needed with any other financial issues or projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- A CPA designation is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller, or combined relevant experience.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Previous experience with Sage Software is helpful.
