Junior Buyer

The Junior Buyer is expected to buy products to fill the supply chain requirements, preventing stock outages and missed shipments. The buyer will work with suppliers to ensure they are meeting request dates and company expectations and standards. The Junior Buyer is responsible for entering, expediting, and amending purchase orders. The Junior Buyer will be responsible for the completeness, clarity, and accuracy of requisitions, purchase orders, and order acknowledgments. The Junior Buyer will be responsible for creating and utilizing reports to support and analyze supply chain needs. Other responsibilities and activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Review requirements, stock levels, and past-due reports daily.
  • Perform all administrative tasks associated with purchasing.
  • Provide timely communications to internal teams and suppliers regarding purchased items.
  • Participate in and initiate continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships and open communication with Customer Service, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Warehousing, Production teams, and suppliers at all times.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Some postsecondary education. Business or Supply chain focus preferred.

Strong Microsoft Office skills are required. Advanced Excel proficiency.

Experience with MRP/ERP systems
